Hey, I’m Libby (she/her)

I offer therapy for QTBIPOC and neurodivergent individuals, relationships, and families in Denver, Colorado

I provide support to individuals, relationships, and families with:

  • Neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC affirming support: no fixing, no masking, no need to explain or justify. Just figuring out what actually works for you.

  • Self-esteem: not as a personal failure, but as a response to systems that were never designed for you.

  • Anxiety and Depression: without blame or clinical jargon.

  • Identity and Belonging: who you are, who you were told to be, and who you are becoming.

  • Relational Patterns: the cycles that keep you stuck, whether with partners, family, or yourself.

  • Masking and Burnout: the exhaustion of performing versions of yourself that were never yours to begin with.

  • Adoptee identity: the impacts of assimilation and exploration of grief and loss.

  • Friends and Families of adoptees: learning ways to support the adoptee(s) in your life.

About

A young woman with long black hair, smiling, wearing an orange shirt and denim overalls, standing against a beige wall.

My name is Libby Kern (she/her). I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate practicing in Denver, Colorado. I practice on the traditional and unceded lands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute people. I believe that healing requires honesty about history, harm, and my own place on this land as a guest. I am committed to learning, giving back, and showing up with accountability, not just acknowledgement.

As a queer, neurodivergent, Chinese-American adoptee, I understand the complexities that come along with navigating marginalized and intersecting identities. I bring my own lived experience and worldview, shaped by a culturally sensitive and social justice-informed perspective, to create a collaborative, warm, and person-centered space.

I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent folx, and anyone navigating anxiety, identity, or question who they are beyond what they’ve been told. I strive to be a compassionate witness to your story, to help you untangle what isn’t yours to carry, discover new possibilities, and live a life that feels authentic.

My therapeutic approach is influenced by Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Narrative frameworks with a focus on how our relationships shape us and how we can rewrite stories burdened by shame or societal expectations.

If you’re ready to untangle what isn’t yours to carry, I’m here.
